• Our team at Vitality Vetcare are here to work in partnership with you and your vet to enable your animal to live a happy and healthy life.

  • Referrals and Appointments

  • We consult by appointment. We require a referral and medical history from your GP vet. If you self-refer, we still need a medical history from your GP vet. We will communicate with your GP vet about your animal's care.  The referral form can be downloaded here.

Our consultations are an in-depth exploration of your animal's health and illness, including the presenting complaint, previous medical history, diet, lifestyle and behaviour. The first appointment takes 60 minutes in order to fully assess your animal's health and to develop a wellness plan with you. The second appointment is for 30 minutes. It is a very important opportunity to understand your animal's response to the initial treatment, to discuss any test results, answer questions and to modify the wellness plan as necessary. Subsequent 30 minute appointments are arranged as required.

    Holistic Consultations

A holistic approach means looking at your animal or herd as a whole, not just focussing on the presenting problem or diagnosis. Dr Megan is interested in how your animal is affected by their condition, what is characteristic about their behaviour and how they are affected by external stimuli such as the weather, temperature, time of day, season and feeding. The initial appointment is an hour. The second and subsequent appointments are usually 30 minutes.

  • First Steps

    1. Request a referral including a medical history from your vet who is currently caring for your animal. You may also self-refer but we will request permission to obtain a medical history from your vet.
    2. Request an appointment here xxxx or call Vitality Vetcare 02 6687 0675
    3. Complete the New Patient Questionnaire and return it to us or bring it with you to your first appointment

    First Appointment

The first appointment is structured to understand your animal as thoroughly as possible. Dr Megan may advise further tests or procedures to be conducted between the first and second appointments. Initial treatment recommendations are discussed, and the development of your animal’s treatment plan and wellness program is initiated.

    Second appointment

At the second appointment, which is typically 1 month after the first appointment unless acupuncture, we will review any test results and your animal’s treatment plan. The second appointment is vital to achieving long-term health for your animal because not only do we review your animal’s health and modify the treatment plan if necessary, it is also an opportunity to ask questions and share information.

    Follow up appointments

Follow up appointments after the second appointment depend on your animal’s presenting health complaint, its duration, roadblocks to health that we have identified, and treatments prescribed. Dr Megan may see patients more regularly in the initial stages and then less frequently once your animal’s health has stabilised.
